JoAnne Kane
Board Member

JoAnne Kane grew up in North Miami Beach, Florida, and attended the University of Florida. After graduating, she began her career in Jewish communal work as Director of Admissions at the Alexander Muss High School in Israel.
She went on to earn her MBA in Marketing from the University of Miami and spent several years in the corporate sector, gaining valuable experience before relocating with her family to Orlando.
In Orlando, JoAnne found her professional passion through an impactful 18-year career with the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando. There, she helped strengthen and connect the Jewish community by founding the Women’s Division and launching the Women’s Choices event in 1993. She also established professional affinity groups such as the Maimonides Society and the Cardozo Society, and was instrumental in creating Shalom Orlando, a community-wide welcoming initiative.
Her volunteer service includes board positions at Congregation Ohev Shalom—where she chaired the Annual Gala for many years—as well as with KCOA and Kinneret. She also continues to give back as a volunteer job coach with RAISE, a program supporting young adults with special needs.
As a founding board member of the S’firot Foundation, JoAnne has played a key role in guiding and leading the Foundation’s inaugural community needs assessment, helping shape its vision and priorities to understand the needs of Jewish seniors in Central Florida.
Now retired, JoAnne has traded in her road bike for pickleball paddles and enjoys traveling with her husband, Steven, and their daughters, Erika and Aly.
